Stakeholders at the Digital Procurement Africa (DPA) summit, hosted by Gloopro, Africa’s leading enterprise e‑procurement platform, emphasized the importance of generating data across the channel and distribution value chain to scale digital procurement within organisations.
They argued that robust data generation would improve accuracy and enable better decision‑making, helping organisations expand quickly.
The comments were made during the 2026 DPA summit held in Lagos.
In his keynote, Dr. Olumide Olusanya, founder and CEO of Gloopro, called for large enterprises to accelerate their digital procurement initiatives in the digital age.
Olusanya explained that Gloopro has created a Procurement‑as‑a‑Service (PaaS) solution designed to tackle the challenges that hinder digital procurement, including issues related to tail‑spend.
“As you’ve heard from the various panels at the DPA summit, tail‑spend can be a significant obstacle in digital procurement. Our PaaS platform allows organisations to outsource internal procurement functions. Rather than hiring staff for each role, companies can use the PaaS solution to drive growth and profitability. The platform reduces operational costs and prevents financial leakages by offering benefits such as low cost, faster turnaround, and scalability,” Olusanya said.
