The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, together with one of his queens, Mariam, has welcomed twin princes into the Royal House of Oduduwa.
This announcement was made on Friday in Ile‑Ifẹ by the Director of Media and Public Affairs at the Ooni’s Palace, Mr. Moses Olafare.
Olafare reported that the traditional ruler thanked Almighty Olodumare for the successful delivery and for the safe condition of both mother and children.
He added that the arrival of the twins has sparked excitement and celebration throughout the ancient city, with friends, associates, and well‑wishers congratulating the royal family on the new addition.
The Ooni described the birth of the twin princes as a special blessing for the royal household and for the entire House of Oduduwa.
Oba Ogunwusi also expressed gratitude to those who have supported the palace with prayers, love, and goodwill, calling the moment one of thanksgiving and celebration.
He reiterated his joy at the safe delivery and reaffirmed the palace’s gratitude to Olodumare for His mercy and favour.
The Ooni prayed that the newborn princes will grow in sound health, wisdom, peace, and greatness, and become worthy ambassadors of Ile‑Ifẹ’s rich cultural heritage and the Yoruba people.
