Onyeka Makes Championship Player of the Month Shortlist

Frank Onyeka has been shortlisted for the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month award for April, following his strong performances with Coventry City, reports Completesports.com.

The Nigerian midfielder was instrumental in the Sky Blues’ campaign that saw them secure promotion to the Premier League by winning the Championship title.

During the month, Onyeka appeared in three league matches and supplied one assist.

The 28‑year‑old provided the pass that led to Ephron Mason‑Clark’s stoppage‑time goal in Coventry City’s 3‑0 win.

Across the season, the defensive midfielder has recorded one goal and one assist in 14 league appearances for Frank Lampard’s side.

Onyeka joined Coventry City on loan from Brentford during the winter transfer window.

Other nominees for the award include Christian Walton (Ipswich Town), Adrian Segečić (Portsmouth), Josh Windass (Wrexham), Mohamed Touré (Norwich City), and Žan Vipotnik (Swansea City).
