Residents of Okitipupa, located in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State, moved freely on Saturday even though a restriction order had been issued before the Ondo South Senatorial by‑election.
State police had imposed restrictions on human and vehicular movement from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. across the senatorial district on that Saturday to maintain security for the election.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the by‑election will take place in the six local government areas of Okitipupa, Ilaje, Ese‑Odo, Irele, Odigbo, and Ile‑Oluji/Oke‑Igbo.
NAN correspondents in the Okitipupa metropolis observed that many residents moved freely and commercial activities continued, with shops open for business.
NAN further reported that numerous commercial motorists and Okada riders were transporting passengers between areas without any restriction.
