Senator Ede Dafinone, who represents Delta Central Senatorial District, has won the All Progressives Congress senatorial primary for the district.
Dafinone defeated former Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo‑Agege.
Official results released by the APC National Assembly Primary Committee show Dafinone receiving 116,252 votes, while Omo‑Agege garnered 3,643 votes across the district’s eight local government areas.
The victory bolsters Dafinone’s prospects for re‑election in the 2027 general elections and marks a notable setback for Omo‑Agege, a former party candidate for governor in Delta State.
The results were collated by Hon. Dr. Okiemute E. Benjamin. Barr. Nusa Amagbor, Secretary of the APC National Assembly Primary Committee, announced the outcome together with committee member Abimbola Samuel Dart.
