Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, is scheduled to visit Ekiti State on Saturday, May 30, for a one‑day working tour.
The itinerary was announced in a statement released on Wednesday in Ado‑Ekiti by Yinka Oyebode, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media.
The statement said that the First Lady, who also chairs the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), will travel with several state first ladies and senior government officials.
She is expected to be welcomed by Governor Biodun Oyebanji, his wife Olayemi Oyebanji, and other senior state officials.
During the visit, Senator Tinubu will commission a newly built ICT Centre at Ekiti State University, an effort facilitated by the Renewed Hope Initiative.
She is also slated to meet with traditional rulers through the Ekiti State Traditional Rulers’ Council.
The statement added that the First Lady will launch the All Progressives Congress Women Campaign Rally for Governor Oyebanji’s re‑election at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion in Ado‑Ekiti.
According to the statement, Senator Tinubu, via the Renewed Hope Initiative, has implemented at least 16 intervention programmes in Ekiti State since 2023.
These interventions reportedly include material and financial empowerment programmes for women, youths, students, farmers, vulnerable households, small‑scale businesses, and persons with disabilities.
Mrs Oyebanji said that adequate arrangements have been made to ensure a successful and memorable visit by the First Lady.
