Michael Olise has been voted the best French player playing abroad after an impressive season with Bayern Munich.

He received the award ahead of a strong field that included Rayan Cherki (Manchester City), Hugo Ekitike (Liverpool), Kylian Mbappé (Real Madrid) and William Saliba (Arsenal).

During his first full season in Germany, Olise quickly became one of Bayern’s most decisive contributors, being named the best passer in both the Bundesliga and the Champions League, and finishing with 22 goals and 28 assists.

The trophy recognises the French international’s rapid rise with the Bavarian club.

Speaking after receiving the award, Olise said (via French Football Weekly): “I am very grateful, I wanted to thank everyone at Bayern Munich, I can’t wait to give my all at the World Cup this summer, with the France team.”

Olise helped France reach the final of the football tournament at the Paris 2024 Olympics, where they were defeated by Spain.

He is expected to be included in the French squad for this year’s FIFA World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
