Preparations are complete for the first coronation anniversary of the Okuokpellagbe of Okpella Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Michael Sado. A series of cultural, religious, and community‑development activities has been scheduled to mark his first year on the throne.

The event is expected to gather the people of Okpella, as well as traditional rulers and other dignitaries, providing an opportunity to promote the kingdom’s cultural heritage and strengthen unity among its inhabitants.

During the programme, the monarch will visit the various ruling areas of the kingdom, a gesture intended to reinforce ties between the traditional institution and local communities.

Additional activities will feature inspections and inaugurations of selected community projects, special prayers by Muslim and Christian devotees for peace and development, and the launch of initiatives aimed at supporting economic and social progress.

Inaugurated projects will include the MCC Road, the Police Area Command, Okpella Finance Limited, and the Okpella Vigilante Office. The celebration will also launch the Okpella Royal Foundation and an empowerment programme for selected women.

Organisers stated that the anniversary would provide a platform to showcase Okpella cultural heritage through traditional music, dance, and other indigenous displays, and would serve as a homecoming for indigenes and friends of the kingdom.

They expressed hope that the activities would further strengthen peace, unity, and community development throughout the kingdom.
