The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, urged a more robust partnership between police and the public to address insecurity, kidnapping, cultism and other emerging threats in the state.

Ojajuni emphasized that effective policing depends on collaboration and strengthened security cooperation.

The state has recently experienced a series of armed robberies, kidnappings, cult‑related killings and other social vices.

Speaking on Tuesday at the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) monthly meeting, the commissioner highlighted that ongoing engagement with stakeholders is essential for maintaining public safety throughout all communities.

Ojajuni reaffirmed the police command’s dedication to intelligence‑driven, proactive and people‑focused policing, and pledged to further deepen stakeholder collaboration in line with national policing reforms aimed at protecting lives and property.

According to DAILY POST, the meeting provided a forum for police and key community representatives to discuss enhanced intelligence sharing, better coordination of public safety efforts, and increased trust in policing operations across the state.

The commissioner thanked PCRC members and other partners for their continual cooperation through intelligence exchange, advocacy and community outreach.

In his remarks, PCRC Chairman Comrade Lawal Abdullahi praised the police chief’s attendance, noting it was the first occasion a serving state commissioner had personally joined the monthly session.

Abdullahi called the development a clear sign of leadership commitment to community policing and affirmed the PCRC’s ongoing support for maintaining peace and security throughout the state.
