Igoh Ogbu believes the Super Eagles can retain their Unity Cup title, Completesports.com reports.
Éric Chelle’s side earned a place in the invitational tournament’s final after a 2‑0 win over the Warriors of Zimbabwe on Tuesday night.
The three‑time African champions will meet the Reggae Boys of Jamaica, who also finished 2‑0 against India in the final.
The match will take place at The Valley, the home ground of Charlton Athletic, on Saturday.
Eyes On The Prize
Ogbu said the team’s priority is to defend their title now that they’ve reached the final.
“We have to keep our heads straight, keep working hard and continue doing our best because it is a privilege to play for Nigeria,” Ogbu said after the Zimbabwe match.

“Now that we are in the final, we understand what we need to do. We will recover and prepare well because the reason we came here is to win and retain the title.”
Ogbu Happy With Win Over Zimbabwe
Ogbu was instrumental in the Super Eagles’ victory over Zimbabwe, forming a solid partnership in central defence with Trabzonspor defender Chibuike.
The Warriors failed to register a shot on target in the first half and only tested goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo for the first time in the 70th minute.
Ogbu said the Super Eagles delivered a disciplined and efficient performance against Kaitano Tembo’s side.
“It was a very tough game, especially in the second half, but we thank God for the victory. It was not easy at all,” he added.
“It went well in the end. The boys did well, they pushed hard, and now we have to enjoy the win and focus on the next game.”
