Edo Queens rebounded from their opening‑day loss to Nasarawa Amazons in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Super Six playoff by defeating FC Robo Queens 4‑1 in Port Harcourt on Monday.
It was Robo Queens’ second defeat in the competition, following a 3‑2 loss to former champions Rivers Angels last Saturday.
The 2024 champions opened the scoring twice in the first half, both goals coming from Chioma Moses.
After the break, Edo Queens continued to dominate, with Precious Oscar adding a third goal just before the hour mark.
Mary Mamudu sealed the win for the Benin City club by scoring the fourth goal in the 63rd minute.
Robo Queens managed a consolation goal when Florence Godwin Freda pulled one back four minutes from time.
Playoff matches will resume on Wednesday.
