The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and FIDIC Africa are preparing a joint training program to give engineers the skills needed to deliver large‑scale infrastructure projects.

FIDIC Africa is the African regional arm of the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC). It represents consulting engineering associations across the continent and promotes collaboration, infrastructure development, professional standards, and best engineering practices.

During an interactive session at the National Engineering Centre headquarters in Abuja, the NSE president, Ali Rabiu, met with FIDIC Africa president George Okoroma, according to an NSE statement. The meeting highlighted the new training initiative.

The capacity‑building effort will also introduce participants to international standards in project delivery, contract administration and engineering consultancy practice.

The training is intended to equip engineers with the technical and professional competence required to compete for large‑scale contracts and to execute such projects successfully once awarded.
