The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has stationed 2,480 personnel throughout Kwara State to provide security for the upcoming Sallah celebrations.

The announcement was made on 25 May 2026 as part of proactive steps to protect lives, safeguard critical infrastructure, and maintain peace before, during, and after the festivities.

Mr Umar Mohammed, the Kwara State Commandant, said the operatives have been positioned strategically at worship centres, recreational facilities, markets, motor parks, and other public venues that are considered high‑risk during holiday periods.

He added that the Corps is working in collaboration with other security agencies to ensure a peaceful celebration across the state.

“We have deployed 2,480 personnel across Kwara State to ensure adequate security during the Sallah celebration. Our duty is to protect lives and critical national assets,” he said.

The Commandant also urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the nearest security post for prompt action.
