NRS launches Rev360 to ease tax compliance, identify evaders

By Emma Ujah, Abuja Bureau Chief

The Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) has introduced Rev360, a next‑generation digital platform aimed at creating a more integrated, intelligent, and taxpayer‑centric tax administration experience while also identifying tax evaders.

During the launch event in Abuja yesterday, Executive Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service, Dr. Zacch Adedeji, described Rev360 as a transformational tool that supports the Service’s move toward Tax Administration 3.0. He said the platform will improve service delivery, strengthen compliance management, enhance transparency, and simplify interactions for taxpayers.

He added, “The launch has reinforced the Nigeria Revenue Service’s commitment to innovation, digital transformation, stakeholder collaboration, and continuous improvement as it advances its vision of building a modern revenue administration system that is efficient, transparent, data‑driven, and responsive to the needs of taxpayers and the Nigerian economy.”

Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Taiwo Oyedele, noted that technology‑enabled tax systems are increasingly becoming the backbone of modern economies. He said such systems are essential for creating a transparent, predictable, and business‑friendly environment that supports sustainable growth and national development.

Oyedele praised the NRS for its commitment to innovation and institutional transformation, emphasizing that digital platforms like Rev360 are critical for strengthening revenue administration, improving the ease of doing business, boosting investor confidence, and supporting the Federal Government’s economic reform agenda. He was represented by the Permanent Secretary (Special Duties) of the Ministry, Mr. Mohammed Sanusi, who assured that the ministry would provide the necessary support for the successful implementation of Rev360.

Executive Director, Medium and Emerging Taxpayers Group, Mrs. Bolaji Akintola, highlighted the platform’s significance for taxpayers. She said Rev360 is the first phase of a broader transformation journey aimed at simplifying interactions with the Service and improving the overall taxpayer experience.

According to Mrs. Akintola, the platform was designed to enhance taxpayer onboarding, filing, payment processing, compliance management, and support services, while giving taxpayers greater visibility, convenience, and confidence in meeting their tax obligations.

Executive Director (Technology), Mr. Iniabasi Akpkan, explained that the Rev360 technology itself is laying the foundation for the NRS to deliver its mandate at scale. He noted, “The technology platform makes it easy for taxpayers to pay their taxes, and it’s much faster, much more convenient. That will drive, ultimately, voluntary compliance. Because if people can pay easier, they can pay faster, conveniently from the comfort of their offices and their home, I think naturally it will make people do it much more easily.”
