NPFL: Ogunbote Celebrates Plateau United’s Survival from Relegation

Plateau United technical adviser Gbenga Ogunbote credited his team’s final‑day win over Kano Pillars to the players’ effort and the support of the technical crew.

The Peace Boys defeated Kano Pillars 1‑0 in a closely fought match at the New Jos Stadium on Sunday.

The victory secured Plateau United’s place in the Nigeria Premier Football League for the following season.

Ogunbote admitted the achievement was hard‑won.

“It was a collective responsibility; everybody had a share in the game,” Ogunbote said in a post‑match interview.

“It was a project that took a big toll on me; it didn’t come easy until the last day of the campaign. This is the first time I have found it difficult in my entire coaching career, and I commend everyone for working tirelessly to achieve this for the club.”
