NPFL: Obioma laments Abia Warriors’ failure to qualify for continental competition

Emeka Obioma, a forward for Abia Warriors, voiced his disappointment over the club’s failure to secure a continental berth.

The Umuahia‑based side lost the chance to qualify for continental competition after two successive defeats.

Obioma described the setback as “unfortunate” and “painful.”

“It’s very unfortunate, very painful, I must say,” Obioma told Completesports. “We held strongly to our dream throughout the season but sadly lost grip at the wrong time. That’s how cruel football can be at times. We never saw that defeat against Kun Khalifat coming, and that was the major blow we suffered, a disappointment, one must say.”

Abia Warriors will face Warri Wolves in their final match of the season.
