NPFL: Ahmed Musa confident, leads Kano Pillars in a survival fight

Kano Pillars forward and General Manager Ahmed Musa said he is confident the club will avoid relegation in the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Completesports.com reports.

Rabiu Ali converted a 45th‑minute penalty to secure a 1‑0 win for Kano Pillars against Warri Wolves in the NPFL Matchday 37 fixture held at Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofor Mata, Kano, on Sunday 10 May 2026.

The victory lifted the Sai Masu Gida side to 11th place with a single round remaining in the campaign.

Kano Pillars will travel to Plateau United for the final match of the season next Sunday.

Kano Pillars Will Fight Till The End — Ahmed Musa

After the tense encounter, a visibly pleased Musa told reporters that the team will keep battling until the season’s conclusion.

“I’ve said this over and over again from the beginning of the season that Kano Pillars won’t go down,” the former Super Eagles captain said.

“Today we secured three points against Warri Wolves and we still have one game to play.

“So we’ll keep fighting until the final game of the season.”

Ahmed Musa Explains Injury Struggles

Musa also clarified that his limited playing time earlier in the campaign was due to injury problems.

“Yeah, you know that even before the start of the current season, I had been dealing with a series of injuries. But now, I’m okay.”

Kano Pillars Fans Urged To Keep Supporting Team

The former Nigeria winger appealed for continued backing from the club’s supporters.

“Like I’ve always urged them, let them continue supporting and praying for us.

“At the end of the day, we’ll see what happens because football is all about 90 minutes. Let them continue supporting us; we won’t disappoint them. So, let us wait until the final game.”
