Wikki Tourists have confirmed the appointment of Bala Abubakar as their new technical adviser ahead of the 2026/27 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.
Abubakar succeeds Evans Ogenyi, who stepped down from the role following the club’s relegation from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) last season.
The experienced tactician has been handed the responsibility of leading the Bauchi Elephants back to the top flight at the first attempt.

A CAF B Licence holder, Abubakar brings a wealth of experience to the role, having managed several clubs across the Nigerian football landscape.
His coaching résumé includes spells with Lobi Stars, Niger Tornadoes, Katsina United, Doma United, Sunshine Stars and Bauchi-based Zabgai International, where he built a reputation for his tactical acumen and ability to develop competitive teams.
Wikki Tourists will be hoping Abubakar’s experience and leadership can inspire a swift return to the NPFL after a disappointing 2025/26 campaign.
