NNL: Sunshine Stars Begin Open Tryouts to Find New Players

The Sunshine Stars of the Nigeria National League (NNL) have launched an open screening to recruit new talent for the upcoming season.

The exercise, overseen by seasoned tactician Duke Udi, will begin on Friday, 5 June.

Prospective players are invited to attend weekday training sessions starting at 8:00 a.m.

All sessions will take place at the ODSFA Games Village on Oda Road in Akure.

Those who pass the screening will join the existing squad for the 2026‑27 NNL campaign.

The club aims to return to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) after missing out last season.

The Owena Waves finished fifth in Conference A, earning 25 points in the 2025‑26 NNL season.
