Arise Television presenter Rufai Oseni criticized Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, for saying “he does not see the hunger Nigerians are going through.”
During Wednesday’s episode of Arise Television’s “Morning Show,” Rufai asked the presidential aide to swear that the number of Nigerians who have begged him for money has not risen since Tinubu took office.
He called Onanuga’s assessment of Nigeria’s hardship “ignorant.”
In a prior TV interview, Onanuga stated that he does not believe the widespread criticism about hunger accurately reflects the situation nationwide.
Onanuga explained that various government initiatives have produced tangible benefits, citing infrastructure projects, student loans, and credit facilities for workers.
Rufai responded by saying, “Bayo Onanuga should swear with the Bible that the number of Nigerians begging him for urgent N2,000 has not increased since Tinubu came to power.”
He accused Onanuga of being out of touch with the realities faced by ordinary Nigerians, arguing that the everyday experiences of millions contradict the claim that suffering is being exaggerated.
