Nigerian Naira Gains for the Third Consecutive Day Against the U.S. Dollar on June 3, 2026

The naira continued to strengthen against the dollar on Wednesday at the official foreign exchange market for the third straight day.

Data from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) showed that the naira closed at N1,357.26 on Wednesday, compared with N1,361.05 on Tuesday.

That represents a daily appreciation of N3.79 against the dollar at the official market. According to the DAILY POST, the naira has gained a total of N9.50 against the dollar over the past three days.

At the black market, the Nigerian currency held steady at N1,395 per dollar on Wednesday, the same rate as the day before.

This development follows the country’s foreign reserves rising to $49.88 billion on June 2, 2026, up from $49.80 billion the previous day, according to CBN data.

Recall that the naira also gained against the dollar on Tuesday and Monday.
