The Presidency has said that the security partnership between Nigeria and the United States is essential for ending terrorism and banditry in the country.
Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, made the comment on Tuesday during an X Space discussion.
Dare emphasized that intelligence sharing, joint security cooperation, and coordinated counter‑terrorism operations are vital for dismantling insurgent groups and criminal networks operating in the region.
He said the administration of President Bola Tinubu remains committed to restoring peace nationwide, protecting lives and property, and safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial integrity against both internal and external threats.
Dare noted that the deepening collaboration between Nigeria and the United States reflects a shared resolve to address security challenges through coordinated action, capacity building, and intelligence‑driven operations.

He also warned about the growing spread of misinformation and fake news on digital platforms, stating that false narratives could undermine national security and public confidence.
He cautioned that unverified information can fuel social tensions, incite unrest, and create unnecessary panic among citizens.
“The deliberate spread of false information can create unnecessary panic, provoke disorder, and threaten national cohesion. Nigerians must remain vigilant and avoid becoming tools in the dissemination of content capable of destabilizing the country,” he said.
