Nigeria’s revenue not enough to match population – Presidency

Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, said Nigeria’s revenue is insufficient to keep pace with the country’s large population.

Bwala made the comment on Tuesday during a live interview on Arise Television’s “Prime Time.”

He explained why many Nigerians continue to struggle to see the economic progress that President Tinubu claims is underway.

President Tinubu, in a speech marking his third anniversary in office, described the economy as booming.

According to Bwala, “The population is over 230 million, but the resources we have, however, the increased revenue is not enough to match with the population and deficit in terms of infrastructure.”

“So, growth will have to be slow. It will be slow, steady and consistent. That is what we take pride in.”
