Liverpool prospect Rio Ngumoha will join the England squad for their pre‑World Cup training camp in Florida, United States.
The club confirmed the move in a statement posted on its official website on Friday.
During a press conference, Liverpool manager Thomas Tuchel announced that Ngumoha is one of four additional players selected to train with the national side in Palm Beach.
Tuchel said: “We will take some young players out who will train with us and keep the squad in the size that we need, so that we have all the possibilities also for the two friendly matches to take care about the minutes and the load of the players.”
“So, this will be: Alex Scott is confirmed, Rio Ngumoha is confirmed and Josh King, and there will be one more player that we cannot name because it’s not confirmed yet. But I am happy that these guys are with us.”
The England camp runs from 1 June to 13 June, during which Tuchel’s team will play friendlies against New Zealand on 6 June and Costa Rica on 10 June.
Their first World Cup group‑stage match is scheduled for 17 June against Croatia.
