The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Refereeing Development Committee has imposed an indefinite suspension on referee Yakubu Adamu, barring him from all league and football‑related duties, for his performance in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matchday 37 game between Rangers and Bendel Insurance.
The committee stated that the suspension is effective immediately, following Adamu’s decision to award a penalty that was deemed inconsistent with the Laws of the Game.
The penalty, which led to a goal, was considered to have significantly influenced the match result.
