Neymar has kept alive his dream of playing at the 2026 FIFA World Cup after being named in Brazil’s 55‑man provisional squad by head coach Carlo Ancelotti.

Veteran sports journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed the development on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The 34‑year‑old Santos forward, who has endured several injury setbacks in recent seasons, is still working to demonstrate his fitness ahead of the tournament, which will be staged in the United States, Canada and Mexico next month.

The reports also indicate that Chelsea’s youngster Estevao Willian has been omitted from the provisional list after a hamstring injury ruled him out of contention.

Brazilian sources say Ancelotti remains cautious about Neymar’s physical condition and will select only players who can compete at the highest level.

Although Neymar’s inclusion in the final 26‑man roster is not guaranteed, the former FC Barcelona and Paris Saint‑Germain star is reportedly determined to feature in what could be his last World Cup.

Brazil, aiming for a record sixth World Cup title, will announce its final squad on May 18. The Seleção are expected to enter the competition as one of the contenders under Ancelotti’s leadership.
