Neville names greatest manager and picks team to win UCL final in Budapest, calling them “ruthless”

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has said that Paris Saint‑Germain will remain the favourites to win the Champions League, even after Arsenal claimed the Premier League title on Sunday.

The Gunners ended a 22‑year wait for English champions by narrowly beating Manchester City for the title. With the league crown secured after City drew with Bournemouth last Tuesday, Mikel Arteta chose to rest several key players for the season’s final match against Crystal Palace.

Arsenal still won 2‑1 at Selhurst Park and are now preparing for the Champions League final against PSG on Saturday, May 30.

Neville believes the North London side will benefit from the rest their players received during the Premier League, but he also says it will be a tough challenge to overcome PSG.

The pundit noted that PSG is led by a manager whose obsessive drive—he said it is a compliment—helps the team become serial winners. Neville described the Ligue 1 champions as a side with a relentless desire to win.

On “The Gary Neville Podcast,” he said, “It’s going to be tough for them, I’ll be honest with you, because I think that PSG are on a different level. They have what I refer to as one of those obsessive – and I mean this as a compliment – maniac‑type managers who are just winners, serial winners.”

“They have that ruthless mentality within them, that they will do anything to win, and they consistently achieve victory. Luis Enrique is arguably the greatest manager in the world at this moment,” Neville added.

Arsenal are appearing in only their second Champions League final, having lost their first to Barcelona in 2006.
