The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced that it will not impose candidates in Kano or any other Nigerian state.
Osa Director, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, made the statement on Tuesday.
The comment followed a closed‑door meeting between a delegation from the Kwankwasiya Movement and NDC national leader Seriake Dickson.
Director said the meeting was intended to address conflicts between the Kwankwasiya Movement and former NDC officials in Kano State.
He added that Dickson and the NDC leadership are acting as mediators to promote greater inclusion and participation among all party members.
“The NDC leadership will not impose candidates in Kano State, and indeed across the nation, as the party cherishes the virtues of internal democracy,” the statement read.
