The National Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, is slated to inaugurate the party’s Selection Committee on Monday, May 25, 2026, following the completion of the screening process for governorship, National Assembly, and State Houses of Assembly aspirants ahead of the general elections.

The newly formed committee was created to examine and review reports submitted by the National Screening Committee and the State Houses of Assembly screening committees.

It will also make final decisions on the screening results of aspirants contesting various elective positions.

The 21‑member committee is chaired by the NDC National Chairman, Moses Cleopas Zuwoghe.

According to the party, the committee was established on the recommendations of the National Working Committee and in line with the vision of the party’s national leader.

The NDC said the committee is intended to strengthen internal democracy within the party and to ensure a credible process for selecting candidates.

Its primary responsibility is to position the NDC to field strong and competitive candidates for all elective offices in the forthcoming general elections.

The inauguration ceremony is scheduled for 4 pm at the NDC National Secretariat and will be officially conducted by Senator Dickson.
