Senator Natasha Akpoti‑Uduaghan has been selected as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Kogi Central Senatorial District in the upcoming 2027 general elections.

During a coordinated exercise held on Wednesday, thousands of party members and supporters gathered in all 57 wards of the district to endorse her candidacy.

The final collation of results took place at Kahal Cinema in Okene, where party leaders, stakeholders and supporters convened.

Observers from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and journalists were present at both the ward level and the collation centre to ensure the process adhered to established procedures.

After the collation, Akpoti‑Uduaghan expressed gratitude to the party members, describing their support as an “overwhelming show of confidence and unity.”

“This affirmation is a reflection of the trust and confidence the people of Kogi Central have continued to place in our collective vision for progress, inclusion and development,” she said.

She added that the high turnout demonstrated members’ commitment to strengthening democratic participation and emphasized that the exercise was about unity and building a stronger Kogi Central.

The lawmaker pledged to keep representing the district’s interests and to maintain close engagement with local communities.

Supporters at the collation described the event as a testament to unity and confidence in the PDP’s leadership and prospects in Kogi Central ahead of 2027.
