Nasarawa: ‘Result manipulation going on’ – Former IGP Adamu on APC guber primaries

Former Inspector‑General of Police Mohammed Adamu has warned that the outcome of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary in Nasarawa State may be under manipulation.

During a press briefing in Lafia on Friday, Musa Hussaini, the Director‑General of Adamu’s governorship campaign, voiced the concerns. Hussaini said that the results reported from the wards and local government areas where voting took place reflected the will of party members and showed broad support for the aspirant.

He alleged that officials of the Nasarawa State Government interfered with the election result sheets in certain local government areas. According to Hussaini, such actions were undemocratic and could undermine the credibility of the primary election.

Hussaini urged the APC Electoral Committee to remain impartial and to uphold the genuine results from ward polling and collation centres. “We, therefore, call on the APC Electoral Committee to remain firm, impartial and committed to justice by upholding the genuine results as obtained at the wards and local government collation centres,” he said. “The committee must resist every form of pressure, intimidation or attempt to manipulate the democratic process,” he added.

At the time of this report, the collation of results from the governorship primary was still underway at the state collation centre in Lafia.
