NAF Transports Electoral Materials for Ekiti Elections and By‑Elections Across Nigeria

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) announced that it has airlifted sensitive electoral materials for the 2026 Ekiti State Governorship Election and several by‑elections scheduled for June 20, 2026.

Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information for the Nigerian Air Force, said the operation, carried out on June 15 and 16, 2026, was undertaken at the request of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The aim was to ensure the secure and timely movement of electoral items from Abuja to their designated destinations across the country.

According to the statement, the airlift supported preparations for the Ekiti State governorship election, senatorial by‑elections in Enugu North (Enugu State), Nasarawa North (Nasarawa State), and Rivers South East (Rivers State), as well as federal constituency by‑elections in Dawakin Kudu/Warawa (Kano State) and Zuru/Shanga (Kebbi State).

The NAF transported the materials from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja to designated airports in Enugu, Rivers and Kano states, ensuring that INEC received the items within the required timeframe before the elections.
