The Nigerian Air Force has stepped up its counter‑terrorism campaign in Borno State after launching new air strikes against terrorist hideouts in the Sambisa Forest area.
The information was released in a press statement posted on the Nigerian Air Force’s official page on May 26, 2026.
The statement said that aircraft from the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI carried out precision strikes on identified terrorist camps and logistical facilities in Biramiri, Gezuwa, Borno State, following Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance reports.
According to the Air Force, the operation destroyed key insurgent facilities and reportedly neutralised several fighters during the coordinated attacks.
The statement added that the sustained air offensives have disrupted the activities of terrorist elements operating along the Sambisa axis, limiting their movement and access to safe havens.
The military noted that the operation is part of ongoing efforts by Operation HADIN KAI and other security agencies to keep pressure on terrorist networks throughout the North‑East region.
“The coordinated attacks destroyed key terrorist facilities and neutralised several fighters, further crippling the operational capacity of the insurgents,” the statement read.
