NAF airstrikes hit terrorist logistics base and strongholds in Sambisa

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) announced on Tuesday that the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai has intensified its counter‑terrorism campaign in Borno State, striking key terrorist strongholds and logistics bases in the Sambisa Forest area.

Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, said the airstrikes were carried out after credible Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) reports identified targets.

On 26 May 2026, NAF aircraft conducted precision strikes on terrorist hideouts and support facilities in Biramiri, within the Gezuwa general area of Borno State.

The coordinated attacks destroyed important terrorist structures and neutralised several insurgents, further eroding the operational capacity of the groups operating there.

Ejodame noted that the sustained air campaign has generated fear and confusion among terrorist elements across the Sambisa axis.

“The intensity and precision of the ongoing air offensives have continued to generate fear and confusion among terrorist elements across the Sambisa axis,” he said.

He added that intelligence assessments show growing apprehension and disorientation within terrorist ranks as continuous bombardments deny them freedom of movement and safe havens.

“The NAF, in concert with troops of Operation Hadin Kai and other security agencies, remains resolute in maintaining relentless pressure on terrorist networks while reinforcing its commitment to protecting innocent lives and restoring lasting peace and security across the North‑East,” the statement added.
