Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc has released its audited financial results for the year ended 31 December 2025, showing a robust performance characterized by notable growth in profitability, increased insurance revenue, and continued expansion of its balance sheet. The figures highlight the company’s resilience, disciplined execution, and strategic position within Nigeria’s insurance sector.
The audited results, drawn from Mutual Benefits’ consolidated and separate financial statements, demonstrate sustained momentum across underwriting, investment income, and operational efficiency.
Key highlights include insurance revenue rising to ₦80.05 billion, up from ₦66.92 billion in 2024, driven by growth in key business segments. Profit for the year climbed to ₦16.42 billion, compared with ₦11.32 billion in 2024, while profit before tax reached ₦17.41 billion, up from ₦11.80 billion the previous year.
Total assets expanded to ₦176.25 billion, versus ₦147.13 billion in 2024, reinforcing balance‑sheet strength. Total equity grew to ₦69.73 billion from ₦54.79 billion in 2024, supported by retained earnings and improved profitability. Earnings per share increased to 81 kobo, up from 54 kobo the prior year. The insurer also recorded enhanced net investment income of ₦19.87 billion, driven by higher interest income, fair‑value gains, and disciplined portfolio management.
Operationally, Mutual Benefits reported a significant improvement in its insurance service result, which rose to ₦8.77 billion from ₦1.07 billion in 2024. This improvement reflected stronger underwriting discipline, better claims management, and more effective reinsurance structuring.
