Muslim group urges Nigerian government to lower fuel price below N700 per litre

The Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria (MMWG) has urged the Federal Government to force petroleum marketers to lower fuel prices, asserting there is “no basis” for keeping petrol above N1,000 per litre now that global oil prices have fallen to pre‑war levels.

In a statement released on Friday and signed by National Coordinator Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, the group noted that the recent ceasefire between Iran and the United States has eased Gulf‑region tensions and contributed to a decline in international oil prices.
