Former Liverpool and Fulham midfielder Danny Murphy has described PSG’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as the world’s best winger at present.

The ex‑England international also warned that Arsenal may deploy Cristhian Mosquera as a right‑back in their Champions League clash with PSG if Jurrien Timber fails to recover fully before the game.

Mosquera, who normally plays as a centre‑back, could face a difficult evening when matched against the Georgian winger.

Murphy believes that using Mosquera in place of Ben White, who is out for the rest of the season, would not be disastrous.

Speaking to talkSPORT, he said, “It doesn’t bear thinking about, does it?” when considering the prospect of facing PSG’s dynamic Georgian winger.

“Mosquera is a defender, a centre‑half, and he has pace. He can play as a right‑back, position himself well, and hold his own in a one‑on‑one. It’s not the end of the world, but it isn’t the most favourable situation,” he added.

“He’s currently the best winger in the world. He displays remarkable physicality and strength, combined with a sharp footballing mind: knowing when to play quickly and when to keep possession, he can outpace opponents.”

“He can also play on either flank, showing PSG’s versatility. At times you’ll see him on the right; at other times on the left. Ousmane Dembele can switch to the left or the right, and Desire Doue can also alternate between the two sides.”

“It’s a significant challenge for Arsenal; they will need to perform exceptionally well to secure a victory that night.”
