MTN Nigeria, MTNN Plc, has reaffirmed its dedication to transparency and consumer education as part of its effort to build trust and enhance digital literacy, recognising the growing importance of data in daily life.
Dr Karl Toriola, Chief Executive Officer of MTNN, made the remarks during the company’s public engagement event, code‑named Data on Trial. The event was designed to address consumer concerns about mobile data usage, billing transparency, and digital consumption. Dr Toriola emphasised that the company is committed to openness in both its financial performance and operations, noting that it is listed on the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX).
He said: “Data on Trial was created based on a simple belief. Trust with our customers grows when they are given access to the information and are allowed to make up their mind about it. Today’s event is an opportunity for everyone to understand the facts, understand the technology behind what delivers technology in real time, and to ask the most difficult questions and hear different perspectives.”
During the session, MTN’s technical experts answered a range of questions frequently raised by consumers, including issues related to data depletion, billing accuracy, background application activity, automatic updates, cloud synchronisation, video streaming, and multi‑device connectivity.
