After a decisive 5‑0 win over Guinea in Abidjan, Nigeria’s U17 women’s team – the Flamingos – have returned to their training camp in Ikenne‑Remo. The focus now shifts to the second leg of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.
The squad left Abidjan on Sunday morning, boarding an ASKY Airlines flight at 9:35 am local time. They reached Lomé, Togo, at 10:35 am, then continued to Gnassingbé Eyadéma International Airport for the final leg back to Nigeria.
The delegation arrived at the Ikenne training base just after midnight. Their return marks the start of a new, critical phase as the team prepares for the second leg scheduled for Sunday, 30 May, at Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.
Following the strong first‑leg performance in Abidjan, the 2022 World Cup bronze‑medallists aim to complete the tie on home soil as Nigeria pursues qualification for the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.
