Relebohile Mofokeng says Bafana Bafana are fully focused on extending their memorable run at the FIFA World Cup 2026.

South Africa reached the Round of 32 for the first time following a hard‑fought 1-0 win over the Republic of Korea at the Monterrey Stadium.

Substitute Tshepang Moremi provided the assist for Thapelo Maseko’s winning goal in the 63rd minute.

Mofokeng In Buoyant Mood

Mofokeng emphasized that Bafana Bafana will give everything they have to progress as far as possible in the tournament.

“We will fight to go as far as possible,” the Orlando Pirates midfielder told FIFA.com.

“We truly believe in our ability to achieve this; we will trust in God and give everything we have to get where we want to be.”

Bafana Recover From Difficult Start

South Africa began the tournament with a difficult start, losing 2-0 to co-hosts Mexico in the opening match.

Bafana Bafana responded with resilience, earning a crucial late draw against Czechia before delivering their best performance yet in a hard‑fought win over the Republic of Korea.

Mofokeng explained how the team transformed their group‑stage fortunes in the final round.

“International football is the pinnacle, and as a national team player, you have to evolve constantly,” added Mofokeng.

“Continuous improvement is essential, both as a player and as a person. You must learn from past mistakes to sharpen up for the next match; failing to do so only leads to defeat. We grew into the tournament game by game, and that is what matters most in football.”

South Africa will face Canada at the Los Angeles Stadium on 28 June in their Round of 32 match.
