On Saturday, June 6, 2026, Tamunosoye Karibi‑George was declared the winner of Miss World Nigeria 2026 during the pageant’s grand finale at Balmoral Hall in Lagos.
The 26‑year‑old contestant, who represented Bayelsa State and is originally from Port Harcourt, outperformed 19 other participants in a competition themed “Pride, Power and Purpose.”
Karibi‑George will succeed Joy Mojisola Raimi as Nigeria’s representative at the 73rd Miss World Festival, which is scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City from August 9 to September 5, 2026.
In addition to her title, Karibi‑George is the founder of Beyond Labels, an initiative that supports children with special needs and promotes inclusion and equal opportunities.
The top five finalists were: Dionne Chisom Nwagbo of Anambra State, who was named first runner‑up; Shuntell Ezomo of Edo State, who received the second runner‑up title; Irene Irene of Abuja; and Gold of Rivers State.
