Two people have been confirmed dead and eight others injured after a clash between youths from Inkil and Bujinji villages on the outskirts of Bauchi city.

The incident was reported by Zagazola Makama, a counter‑insurgency and security specialist in the Lake Chad region.

According to Makama, the violence erupted at approximately 11:00 pm on June 21, 2026, when youths from Inkil allegedly launched a reprisal attack on Bujinji over a long‑standing dispute between the communities.

Makama stated that eight individuals sustained injuries of varying severity during the confrontation.

After a distress call, a police patrol led by a senior officer was dispatched to the scene and evacuated the victims to the State Specialist Hospital in Bauchi for treatment.

Medical staff later confirmed the deaths of two residents of Inkil, identified as Al Amin Mohammad Aliyu and Jibir Shuaibu.

Makama added that security forces have been deployed to the affected villages to restore normalcy, and agencies continue to monitor the situation to prevent a breakdown of law and order and further violence.

The report said investigations are ongoing and that those responsible for the violence will be brought to justice.
