The long‑awaited rematch between boxing icons Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, which had been scheduled for September 19, 2026, at the Sphere in Las Vegas, has been postponed indefinitely.

Pacquiao’s camp blamed a combination of financial stalemate, scheduling clashes, and legal battles that all involve Mayweather’s organization.

The postponement was further exacerbated when events firm CSI filed a lawsuit against Mayweather, seeking to recover at least $4.65 million that had been paid for exclusive promotional rights. A related Mayweather exhibition in Greece was also cancelled after an injunction was requested.

Pacquiao’s representatives said the earliest the bout could be rescheduled is in early 2027.

“Should Mayweather and CSI settle their internal contract disputes out of court, promoters will immediately pivot to rescheduling a postponed exhibition between Mayweather and Mike Tyson, tentatively targeting 12 September,” the Pacquiao team statement said.

After retiring from professional competition in 2017, Mayweather has taken part in several exhibition matches, notably against YouTuber Logan Paul.
