Minister of State for Defense Bello Mohammed Matawalle praised the indigenous defence‑equipment manufacturer DICON‑D7G for elevating Nigeria’s military‑industrial output onto the world stage.

He made the remarks as he inaugurated DICON‑D7G’s exhibition booth at the 2026 SAHA Defense and Aerospace Exhibition in Istanbul, Turkey.

Accompanied by Chief of Air Staff Sunday Kelvin Aneke, the minister noted that the company’s showcase of locally produced military gear presented Nigeria in a positive light at the international event.

He added that Nigeria is steadily decreasing its reliance on foreign defence manufacturers by producing military hardware domestically for the armed forces and paramilitary agencies.

According to Matawalle, this progress is consistent with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

He further urged international defence‑manufacturing firms to set up production facilities in Nigeria, citing the country’s expanding military‑industrial capacity.

The minister also praised DICON‑D7G Chief Executive Officer Osman Chennar for his dedication to advancing domestic defence‑equipment production.
