Manchester United Confirm Carrick’s Continued Role as Head Coach

Manchester United have confirmed that Michael Carrick has signed a new contract that will keep him as the club’s head coach until 2028.

Carrick returned to the club in January, taking over from Ruben Amorim.

The former England international was named Premier League Manager of the Month in January after victories over Manchester City and Arsenal in his first two matches.

He has guided United to qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League, recording 11 wins from 16 games and the highest points total in the Premier League since his arrival.

Carrick Thrilled With New Deal

“From the moment that I arrived here 20 years ago, I felt the magic of Manchester United,” Carrick told the club’s official website.

“Carrying the responsibility of leading our special football club fills me with immense pride.

“Throughout the past five months, this group of players has shown they can reach the standards of resilience, togetherness and determination that we demand here.

“Now it’s time to move forward together again, with ambition and a clear sense of purpose. Manchester United and our incredible supporters deserve to be challenging for the biggest honours again.”
