A businessman named Abibu Yakubu has filed a petition against his ex‑wife at Upper Area Court 1 in Karu, alleging that she refuses to leave his house after their divorce.

Yakubu is also seeking custody of their four children.

The case was filed on 13 October 2025.

According to the particulars of claim, Yakubu, who lives at Orange Market, Mararaba, Karu LGA, states that the respondent is his ex‑wife and also resides at the same address.

He alleges that the respondent does not respect him or his parents and frequently insults them.

He notes that the marriage produced four children: a 22‑year‑old, a 19‑year‑old, and a pair of 6‑year‑old twins.

Yakubu claims that he divorced his wife about five years ago, but she has refused to vacate his house.

He says she threatened that she would not leave until she killed him.

He further alleges that the respondent occupies his house, threatens his life, and that he no longer sleeps with his eyes closed.

Yakubu requests that the court hold the respondent accountable should anything happen to him.

The petitioner also asks the court to dissolve the marriage again and to grant him custody of the four children.

After hearing the matter, Judge Mohammed Yakubu adjourned the case to 3 June for a continued hearing.
