Man Arrested for Assaulting Partner in Viral Video Sent to Kirikiri Prison

Emeka Joseph, who was filmed assaulting a woman named Ezeka Chisom in a viral video, has been remanded at Kirikiri Correctional Centre in Lagos State.

On Thursday, Police Public Relations Officer Abimbola Adebisi of the Lagos State Command announced that the suspect had been arrested by command officers after receiving a tip from an informant.

The statement added that a preliminary investigation found the victim had been assaulted by the suspect, who had been living with her.

It also noted that the victim sustained facial injuries.

The suspect has been charged and remanded at Kirikiri Correctional Centre, with the case adjourned until 3 August 2026.

The PPRO also reported that Commissioner of Police CP Tijani Fatai of the Lagos State Command reaffirmed the command’s zero‑tolerance policy toward domestic violence, assuring the public that such cases will continue to receive prompt attention.

He urged residents to report domestic violence and other criminal activities promptly to the nearest police station or formation.
