Abubakar Malami, former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, has filed his nomination and expression‑of‑interest forms with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the 2027 Kebbi State governorship election.

The announcement came in a statement released on Thursday by Mohammed Bello Doka, Malami’s Special Assistant on Media.

The statement said the forms were submitted at the ADC National Secretariat in Abuja, in accordance with the party’s procedures.

Malami’s entry into the race has sparked political reactions throughout Kebbi State, as consultations continue ahead of the 2027 elections.

He has begun consultations in all 21 local government areas of Kebbi to build support for his candidacy.

Earlier, DAILY POST reported that Malami obtained the ADC’s governorship nomination form and vowed to focus on rebuilding Kebbi State, prioritizing security, agriculture, infrastructure, education, and healthcare.

He said his decision to run stems from a desire to tackle the state’s insecurity, economic difficulties, and governance problems.

Malami also described the ADC as a platform dedicated to accountability, inclusion, and development in the run‑up to the 2027 general elections.
