Yesterday, the Labour Party National Secretariat observed a surge in activity as candidates from across Nigeria gathered to collect nomination forms for the 2027 elections.
Among the prominent aspirants who secured forms were former Minister of Information Labaran Maku for the Nasarawa North Senatorial District; Senator Ishaku Abbo for the Adamawa State governorship; Emmanuel Ben for the Akwa Ibom State governorship; Adamu Bako Blanzou for the Akwanga North/Eggon/Wamba Federal Constituency; Hon. Jesse James Ayenajeh for the Toto Federal Constituency in Nasarawa State; and Hon. Chidiebere Darlington Anyanwu for the Ahiazu/Ezinihitte Federal Constituency in Imo State. Several other aspirants also picked up forms.
After receiving his form, Maku praised the transparency of the process and expressed confidence in the party’s prospects for the upcoming general elections.
“The Labour Party has won the confidence and support of Nigerians, and I am convinced that the party will emerge victorious in the next general elections, from the presidency to the governorship elections,” he said.
Maku added that the party has become a household name in many states, especially in Nasarawa State and across his senatorial district, where voters are determined to secure its victory.
Abbo likewise highlighted the growing momentum of the Labour Party and praised National Chairman Nenadi Usman for the leadership that has revitalised and repositioned the party.
He expressed optimism about the party’s prospects in Adamawa State and throughout the North‑East region.
