Maikaba Names Assistants as Flying Eagles Resume Camp on Sunday

Newly appointed Flying Eagles head coach Abdu Maikaba has announced his backroom team, Completesports.com reports.

Ortega Deniran will serve as first assistant, Abdullahi Biffo as second assistant, and Usman Mohammed will take charge of goalkeepers’ training.

The Flying Eagles will resume training in Abuja on Sunday, 17 May, as they prepare for the upcoming WAFU B U‑20 Boys Championship scheduled for July.

The tournament will act as the qualifier for the 2027 Africa U‑20 Cup of Nations. The Flying Eagles are seven‑time champions of the continental competition.

Similarly, the newly‑appointed Head Coach of the Golden Eaglets, Eboboritse Uwejamomere, has selected Olumide Joseph Ajibolade as first assistant, Mohammed Kalli Kachala as second assistant, and Abdullahi Isa as goalkeepers’ trainer.

This year’s WAFU B U‑17 Boys Championship, set for September, will serve as the qualification event for next year’s Africa U‑17 Cup of Nations.
